University of Warsaw- Faculty of Psychology and Congnitive Sciences at Campus Ochota

B-Discern (LWM) acted as the BIM, BREEAM, and Commissioning Manager coordinator on behalf of the Employer for the new Faculty of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences building at the University of Warsaw. Spanning 15,000 m², the facility is designed to provide advanced spaces for research, teaching, and collaboration. It includes lecture theatres, seminar rooms, research labs, social areas, and dedicated spaces for psychological and cognitive science experiments.

The design focuses on creating flexible, high-performance spaces that support academic excellence while prioritising sustainability. Energy-efficient systems and the use of sustainable materials ensure minimal environmental impact. The building’s architecture draws on Japanese influences, with serene gardens and meeting spaces integrated into the atrium. The clever use of light and the interplay between these spaces fosters a sense of tranquillity. Additionally, the garden features a beautiful collection of stones sourced from the Faculty of Geology, creating a unique natural element within the design that complements the post-modern interior, meticulously crafted to the finest detail.

Following the final inspection on 10th June 2025, the building exceeded expectations, surpassing the original renderings in both aesthetics and functionality. The seamless integration of natural elements, light, and space has created an exceptional environment for students and staff alike. The main architects, Studio Praga from Warsaw, have successfully realised a design that marries innovation with sustainability. The project is on track to achieve BREEAM certification, reflecting the University’s commitment to high environmental standards and sustainable architectural practices.
